Hill Country Outpost —
The Hill Country Outpost is a statement of intent. It is a demonstration of an approach to design with an expanded sense of enclosure — a gradient between enclosure and exposure.
Designed to soften the boundary between living inside and outside, the Outpost provides necessary refuge while enabling the body to acclimate to the environment as it is.
Day—lighting with shade, fresh air with screens, water for cooling down, fire for warming up, elevated views without the pretense of framing — each moment becomes a step in the process of becoming closer to the natural world.
The Hill Country Outpost is an instrument for re—tuning life to the rhythms and conditions of the natural world while maintaining a sense of comfort and architectural delight.
